Lee Rowley MP will be hosting a video call for local residents on Wednesday 9th September at 5.45PM where residents can find out more about the possibility of Staveley / Barrow Hill station being re-opened for passengers. If you would like to join, please email lee.rowley.mp@parliament.uk and Lee's office will send you the log-in details.
Earlier in 2020, Lee Rowley MP won some funding from the Government to assess whether it was viable to re-open the “Old Road” Barrow Hill line – the freight-only railway between Chesterfield and Sheffield which last carried passengers in the 1960s.
Stakeholders are now putting together a proposal which if successful could mean the re-opening of passenger stations in Staveley / Barrow Hill as well as Whittington, Killamarsh and Eckington.
- What do you think a new railway station can bring for Staveley / Barrow Hill?
- How do you remember the station working before it closed?
- What do you think about how we can maximise the benefit of a new station for the future?
If you can not attend the zoom call, please feed in your views to the proposal by completing this survey.
