North East Derbyshire Parliamentary candidate, Lee Rowley, joined local residents and campaigners this Friday to collect signatures opposing the closure of Dronfield Fire Station.
Lee, along with Cllr Angelique Foster and other local campaigners, publicised Derbyshire Fire Authority's proposals to local residents and highlighted the threat to the town if the Fire Station was closed.
"It was great to meet local residents on this really important issue for Dronfield," commented Lee. "I wanted to come and help the campaign by getting stuck in directly and collecting signatures. And everyone we spoke to, almost to a man, was willing to sign - showing the strength of feeling in the Dronfield community. We'll keep campaigning before the decision is taken!"
