With the proposed application for exploratory drilling looming large over Marsh Lane, Lee Rowley MP held a drop-in session for local residents in the village today.
Over 20 residents attended the session to ask questions, raise concerns and discuss what will happen as a result of the application by Ineos. The application, which will be determined by Derbyshire County Council, seeks to allow exploratory drilling which could lead to fracking on Bramleymoor, next to the village. Lee has pledged to oppose this proposal.
"Thanks to everyone who attended the drop-in today," said Lee. "This is going to be a long fight but I want to help local residents to oppose this application and to see if we can try to find a way to stop it through the planning process."
