Fantastic news for Dronfield!
The Conservatives have pledged that, should they be re-elected, Dronfield will receive £20 million of improvement and regeneration funds in the next Parliament - another town deal building upon the ones already given in this Parliament to Clay Cross, Staveley and Chesterfield.
Commenting on this brilliant news, Lee says:
"This is massively good news for Dronfield and North East Derbyshire as a whole. As your MP up until a few days ago when Parliament dissolved, I have pushed the case for investment and support into North East Derbyshire for years and it is brilliant when we manage to get commitments over the line. Dronfield residents have told me for years that the Civic Centre has seen better days and that there is a strong case for improving the town - something I wholeheartedly agree with. And, over many years, I've made the case for all of our towns down in Westminster - and, today, is a good news day for one of them!
And it's another example of why there is a very clear difference between myself and Labour at the election on 4th July in North East Derbyshire. I've got a record of bringing regeneration funds and fighting for our fair share - and now I've got a promise, so long as the Conservatives are re-elected, of more. And, I'll go down to Westminster if that happens and also keep banging the drum for Killamarsh and Eckington in the next Parliament, too. Labour, by contrast, have no plan for regeneration and no commitments to North East Derbyshire. I hope that's why you'll re-elect me on 4th July so we can keep making progress, together."
