Lee Rowley and local Conservatives were delighted to welcome the Prime Minister, Theresa May, to North East Derbyshire yesterday when she came to Clay Cross to visit a local business.
The Prime Minister spent time with both management and staff whilst looking around the IKO Polymeric factory which manufactures state-of-the-art roofing products used across the United Kingdom and exported across the world. With a wide range of topics covered including the health of the economy, Brexit, exporting and regeneration, the Prime Minister had the opportunity to learn about the challenges, issues and opportunities facing North East Derbyshire and East Midlands businesses.
"Just a few years ago, I don't think many people would have expected to see a Conservative Prime Minister in Clay Cross," said Lee Rowley, Parliamentary Candidate for North East Derbyshire. "The Prime Minister's visit to our area yesterday was another example of how important our area is for the government and how we need a Conservative MP in Westminster to fight for North East Derbyshire on 9th June."
"Thank you to the Prime Minister for coming to our area and thank you in particular to the staff and management of IKO Polymeric who were so kind to allow us to visit."
