Over the past 2 years, North East Derbyshire Conservatives have been trying to improve the draft Local Plan inherited from the previous administration at the District Council.
Thanks to a big resident campaign in 2019, we have already managed to get hundreds of potential houses due to be built on Green Belt removed from the Plan – thanks to everyone who got involved! Just this last Winter, we had another go at trying to get the final 4 Green Belt sites out but, sadly, the Inspector making the decision didn’t agree with us and the sites remain in.
We have one last option to try – asking the Ministry for Housing – to remove the remaining Green Belt sites. Lee, supported by your local Conservative Councillors, has written to the Ministry to make this request and is currently awaiting an answer from them.
Demonstrate your support for removing these remaining Green Belt sites in Dronfield and Killamarsh - thereby creating a plan which is better for every part of North East Derbyshire than the initial draft - by signing the petition below. It takes just 60 seconds to highlight your backing to protect the Green Belt.
We’ll keep fighting wherever we can to fix poor planning in North East Derbyshire – show your support by signing the petition below!
