Local MP, Lee Rowley, visited a rather muddy Ashover show today to meet local residents and discuss the latest agricultural issues with local farmers.
Despite days of torrential downpours immediately beforehand and an extremely muddy field, the organisers of the Ashover Show were quite rightly determined not to cancel and there was a good turnout of visitors and, occasionally, even a bit of sun! Lee joined leader of Derbyshire County Council, Barry Lewis, local District Councillor, William Armitage and many Parish Councillors at the show, along with many other residents and visitors who were enjoying the day out.
"It's great to be back at the Show which is always so well-organised and enjoyed by so many," said Lee. "Thanks to everyone who spoke to me and I look forward to coming again next year - hopefully without the need for the Wellington Boots this time!"
