Last Thursday Lee was very pleased to attend the final of the North Derbyshire Young Enterprise competition, where eight teams from across the area competed for the chance to win.
Held at the Winding Wheel in front of a packed audience, eight teams from seven schools reported back on their successes over a year of running a Young Enterprise company. St. Mary's, Tupton Hall, Henry Fanshawe, Eckington, Parkside, Newbold and Brookfield all took part in the competition.
Each company was judged both on their success to date and the presentation they gave, on the evening, to everyone who had come along.
St. Mary's and Eckington were the successful teams who will now go through to represent North Derbyshire at the County final.
"It's fantastic to see our local schools getting stuck into competitions like this," said Lee. "As someone who helped to run a YE company when I was in sixth form at St. Mary's, I know how useful it was to teach me about budgets, working with others and turning a profit."
"Judging by the presentations today, I can see that it won't be long before some of the students will be very successful!"
