Along with over six hundred other runners, local MP, Lee Rowley, today ran the Chesterfield Half Marathon to raise funds for Ashgate Hospicecare.
In his first half marathon, Lee ran the course which started at Queen's Park and went out to Temple Normanton, the bottom of Grassmoor, through Hasland and then a loop up to the roundabout near Linacre Woods before finishing back in the centre of Chesterfield. Lee was able to raise over £200 for the vital work that Ashgate Hospice does in our local community.
"This was my first half marathon so it was an opportunity to challenge myself for a great cause," said Lee. "Thankyou to everyone who organised such a great event along with all of the runners and supporters who gathered by the road. I'm glad to have been able to finish - there were times when I wasn't sure I would be!"
